NYC Underrated Places

This database was synthesized by scanning over 3,300 local NYC Reddit threads for hidden gems, neighborhood staples, and off-the-radar establishments across restaurants, retail, parks, and entertainment. To ensure these places haven't succumbed to TikTok or Instagram saturation, the dataset was strictly gated against the Google Places API. Only locations maintaining a rating of 4.5 or higher with fewer than 500 reviews were preserved. The result is a consolidated directory of genuinely underrated venues.
