Adult Relationship Patterns

48 statements about close relationships and the choices you make around them.

This questionnaire is inspired by Galit Atlas's six inner-child archetypes.

Before starting

Think about your usual feelings and behavior during the past six months. Consider close relationships with friends, family, or partners. Answer based on what has been true for you, rather than what you think should be true.

You can leave an item unanswered or choose N, U, or S. If a relevant situation happened and the statement was not true, choose 1. Do not guess about a situation you have not experienced.

For statements that say "this caregiver," think of one parent or childhood caregiver whose approval most affects your choices today. If nobody fits, choose N for those statements.

You may pause or skip any item.
